Internet - Search Engines with their own crawler Software and Web Crawler

There are many search engines in the Internet with various kind of tools, you may know some.

The majority of people use only one almost all the time, each person may have his favorite.

But are all genuine Search Engines?

Some people and enterprises use other's search engine engines software or tools to build it's own search engine, but in reality this is not a real Search engine, this it will be in most part of the cases a Box Tool of other search engine with some design, text and page modifications.

Examples of Search Engines with it's own engine and Crawler

This means that all the software was created and developed, and belongs to the company, they are not using other's data bases or resources

• Ask - Ask
• Bing - Microsoft
• Google - Google
• Lycos Search - Lycos
• Sinalsoft Search - Sinalsoft
• Yahoo Search - Yahoo

Examples of Search Engines that are using other search engine resources but in past they had it's own

This happens normally when they were bought by other company and is no need to use 2 different main data bases for the searches

• AltaVista - Yahoo
• AllTheWeb - Yahoo
• Aol Search - Google

Example of Search Engines that are using other's Search Engines resources from the same company

Normally these were created by a company or organization that haves already another search engine but they found necessary the existence of other search engines for various reasons, like country's registration, name accessibility, market study...etc

• Hotbot - Lycos

Examples of Search Engines that are purely using other search engine software

There are hundreds or maybe thousands. i will not give examples here because the majority are only spam and waste of time, but i will teach you how to identify them.

These are some fast ways to do it:

1. Normaly they have a ery strange or long name (www.this-domain-is-too-long123.tld)
   
2. They are some webhosted page or website of other (blablabla.domain.tld/anysubdomain)
3. Near the search box are writed who is powering the searches (powered by Organization)
4. You write something in the search box and hit enter, then in the results page, try to put the mouse over one result and watch the status bar of your browser, or if you wand just copy one of the results url and paste somwhere so you can analize it, normmaly they will belong to another domain (Domain Search:www.thisdomain.tld)(Search Results:www.anotherdomain.tld/results)
