Porto

Porto (Oporto) is one of, or the Oldest city Europe.

IS Worlds Heritage, that means that the world recognizes is value in History, Art, Culture.

Porto's place exists since 2000 Before Crist, and is called "Cidade Invicta" Invictus City, never defeated.

It's ancient name is Portucale "(Porto Local) Port's Place", and was this city that named Portugal country and old world empire.

Porto was always one of the most important cities in Europe, Located near Atlantic Ocean facing United States Of America, and the Azores islands in the middle of the Atlantic (Açores), is also located at North of Portugal (Old Empire with Almost half world under control).

Battles:

Before Portugal even exist, The Romans where Kicked from the area from a Lusitan Heroes "Portuguese people" called Viriato.

Castela (Old Spain) tried to invade and taking Portugal by force like they did with the Other 3 Population territories that they have until today, including (Castilla, Pays Vasco, Catalunia, Galicia) but they where also defeated and kicked out.

Then it comes the French Empire with Napoleon and for 3 Times they where also kicked from the Territory.

Porto remains Intact and beautiful like always, an amazing old Town with 42 KM/2 near Atlantic Ocean face Usa, with the big Douro's River, and the Wine Douro's Region with some of the better wines in the planet, including also the already famous Porto Wine.

Sooner I would find more time to split the photos and add more comments about it, so that people can understand what it means each one of it.

I went to Portugal last summer. I wanted to go to Sagres which, in old days, was thought to be "farthest place on earth." However, nobody knew about it in Spain when I looked for a bus. Someone suggested to go to Porto which was well known to all. That is how I ended up there but this proved a blessing in disguise as Porto was awesome with good spots and foods.

Your hub has brought back old memories. Thanks for sharing.
